From January to September this year, 318 suspects were arrested for sexual crimes involving deepfakes. Of these, 251 people, or almost 79%, were teenagers. The number of such cases is constantly growing: if 156 cases were registered in 2021, then in 2023 there will be 180. Currently, South Korean police are investigating 513 sexual crimes involving deepfakes, the agency writes.
