During today’s prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine in the “115 for 115” format, several Russian servicemen returned to their homeland, including two servicemen from the Sverdlovsk region, captured during the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive in the Kursk region. “Two conscripts returned to their homeland, these are the guys we were immediately informed about. On the second day, as soon as the events in the Kursk region occurred,” said Tatyana Merzlyakova, the Human Rights Commissioner for the Sverdlovsk region. However, according to the ombudsman, two more servicemen from the Sverdlovsk region remain in captivity. Negotiations on a further prisoner exchange are ongoing.
