Since the beginning of 2024, the federal project “Clean Country” has helped eliminate almost 280 landfills within city boundaries and other hazardous sites in Russia.

This was stated in an interview with the publication https://aif.ru reported the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for environmental protection, ecology and transport, Sergei Ivanov.

“Within the framework of the federal project “Clean Country” for 2024, we managed to eliminate 191 landfills within the city boundaries and 88 other hazardous facilities. I cannot say how many are left, there is no such data. I think there are definitely more than a thousand landfills. But the main thing is that movement along this path has begun, and the first results are encouraging,” the special representative of the Head of State informed.
