Margarita Pavlova, a member of the Federation Council from the Chelyabinsk region, said that it is necessary to stop encouraging girls to continue higher education, since “their reproductive function is being missed.” In an interview at the Russian Economic Forum, she noted that often “higher education leads to nothing,” and a person only gets lost in search of himself. “They either start working in completely different professions, or do something else, and this search for themselves lasts for many years, and, as a result, they lose their reproductive function,” the senator emphasized. When asked if she was afraid that she would be accused of wanting to “turn back time,” Pavlova replied that she saw nothing wrong with that.
