The Russian Ministry of Defense said that servicemen of the Russian group of forces “North” evacuated civilians from Volchansk, Kharkov region. RIA Novosti writes about this. The department explained that the evacuation was carried out despite the incessant shelling from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Russian army also provided necessary medical assistance to citizens in need. According to the department, while retreating from the city, Ukrainian militants deliberately attack residential buildings with the help of UAVs and artillery. As a result of one of these attacks, two civilians were injured and are now undergoing treatment in the Belgorod region. The victims were a man and a woman. According to them, they were in the basement for two weeks, fleeing Ukrainian attacks. As they emerged, they came under fire, leaving both wounded. In addition, the man’s house was destroyed. The woman noticed that there were foreign mercenaries in the city. According to her, the accents of the military were “neither Russian nor Ukrainian.” It was previously known that more than 50 percent of the territory of the city of Volchansk, Kharkov region, is already under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. The liberation of Volchansk will open the way for the Russian military to these cities in the region.
