In Vladivostok they are preparing for heavy rain, the first wet snow and winter. To treat roads in the city center, granules based on sodium and calcium chloride were purchased, which are more expensive than a sand-salt mixture, but cheaper than liquid reagents and showed good results last year. And the plots will be processed as before: sand for this was bought in Primorye, and salt in Kazakhstan – it crystallizes better. Russian and Belarusian equipment will be used, including new equipment rented. There are 212 apartments in total, although the city administration admits that this is not enough. Two more UAZs and one Chinese SUV will be shown on Sedanka, Russky Island and the cable car – using cameras and temperature sensors they will monitor the situation on the road. VL.ru-Novosti correspondents were informed about this at the city enterprise “Care for Urban Territories”. Before each heavy rain or snowfall, an operational headquarters is formed at the Urban Territory Management enterprise to combat bad weather. In the building on Snegovaya, 41 there is a control room where you can see in real time on a huge screen where all the equipment is located. Today there is only one dispatcher on duty here, but on Monday at 8 am there will be a full room of people here. “The whole city is divided into 25 maps. Each such site has its own responsible foreman with equipment and a route along which he will move in case of bad weather. Firstly, main roads, passages to social institutions. We always have the latest Primhydromet forecasts; a few hours before the snow, the equipment is in place. At headquarters, if necessary, you can redirect to the most problematic areas; here is access to cameras – “Contract”, “Alliance”, ATC, “smart” stops,” explained Deputy Director of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate Alexey Ostrikov. They decided not to use a liquid reagent this year – it can only work in good weather outside. not bad. And most importantly, the price is 90 thousand rubles per ton. Last year, for the first time, in a fairly large volume – 900 tons – we purchased a new generation of granular material based on sodium and calcium chlorides. “Bionord”. It costs twice as much – 40 thousand per ton. “We treated the city center and Egersheld with it. The results are good – it completely dissolves, and then, unlike the sand-salt mixture, there is no need to waste time cleaning the sand. In the west of the country they are now starting to switch to Bionord. We thought in advance about saving, while the budget is not limited. A ton of salt costs 11 thousand rubles, plus several thousand sand, and a ton of Bionord is three to four times more expensive. But in general, this is promising, because there will be no need to remove sand. In addition, “Bionord” melts more snow, so there is less to remove. This year we also purchased 900 tons for the central part of the city,” said Alexey Ostrikov. In other areas of the city, a sand-salt mixture will be used to combat ice. It was prepared in sufficient quantities at the bases on Snegovaya and Kommunarov in a ratio of 65% sand and 35% salt and distributed to all the main bases of the company. Coastal sand, buying it is not a problem. But the salt was ordered back in June; they do this with great caution, because delays often occur on the railway. Salt is usually brought from Kazakhstan – the halite deposits there have a suitable chemical composition and crystallization for road work. Russia also has a lot of salt, but it is good for cooking, but not suitable for the street. “We have prepared 8 thousand tons of mixture for the first snow; in the autumn-winter season there will be up to 10.5 thousand. This is for the first stage. We will soon announce tenders for 2024, salt and sand will arrive at the bases. in February. Usually during the winter we use 15 thousand tons of mixture. We always buy with a reserve, up to 20 thousand tons,” said Ostrikov. 212 units of equipment are ready to deal with bad weather. The main workhorse is the combined road vehicle, or CMV. This is a dump truck with additional equipment: in the summer these road washers transport asphalt, and now they are equipped with sand spreaders with snow plows. The company also has augers and small tractors with snow blowers at its disposal.” The equipment is mainly Russian, KamAZ trucks; in recent years, the fleet has been replenished with Belarusians. This summer, three large KDMs and six small ones arrived, which made it possible to replace the oldest equipment. MAZs and Amkodor motor-levellers have arrived. The latter have already worked in the summer and showed themselves well. We tested them for winter use in laboratory conditions, and I think they will perform well in real field conditions,” said the deputy director of SGT. According to him and according to some estimates, Vladivostok needs 400 units of equipment for the winter period, although he himself believes that 250 will be enough for the city. In any case, there is not enough equipment now. The city is growing, new roads are appearing, for example, maybe the SCT will free up passage to Green Boulevard, which is in private hands and was closed several times last winter during snowfalls. And this year, for the first time, patrol cars will be used to control the traffic situation in dangerous places – two UAZs and a Chinese Haval, transferred to the city of VMTP. Such an experiment has never been done before, and the new cars will be used as an additional three pairs of eyes. “The cars have a camera, a temperature sensor. We will definitely send it to Sedanka in the area of the TMK container terminal (on the Sedanka – Patroklos highway. Editor’s note). It usually snows there first. The second will monitor the situation on Russky Island. And we will most likely send the Chinese Haval to the area of the cable car ring,” listed Alexey Ostrikov. The main operational base of the central region will also be deployed on the cable car – sand and salt will be loaded here. mixtures and Bionord onto dump trucks. After cleaning, all the snow is transported to the only official base – to the area of the ash dump on Fadeeva. Snow is accepted there free of charge and from private owners, but snow is often unloaded in the area of the oil depot – and this is illegal and not environmentally friendly. Alexey Ostrikov emphasizes that SHT crews will do everything possible to immediately clear the streets, and in turn asks citizens, if possible, not to leave their cars on the roads so as not to interfere with the cleaning.
