This Saturday, November 18, Vladivostok residents are invited to the Maly GUM shopping center (Svetlanskaya, 45) for the useful Open City festival. This is the seventh city action carried out by the Union “For Good”. The festival will be dedicated to creativity, ecology and “slow fashion” – one of the directions of the movement to slow down the pace of life. The program will include various lectures and master classes, an area for exchanging items will be organized for guests, a fashion show will take place and the event will end with a musical concert. Duty-free import. Master classes are paid separately. According to organizers, the Open City festival is a statement that charity, recycling and awareness are the new fashion. Fashion that can become part of our daily lives. Festival program: – 11:00 – opening of the event. – 11:15 – practice “Knitting is like meditation.” Alexey Starostin will perform a meditative practice of unraveling knitted items, and from the unwound yarn they will then knit items for those in need. – 12:00–16:00 – creative workshop for children and adults. With their own hands, with the help of professional designers and craftsmen, guests will be able to create a shopper from old things, knit a basket for small items from a jute rope, try on clothes to match, dye a T-shirt using a tie-dying technique and make a vase from glass or a glass bottle. A master class on sewing “A beautiful cat from a glove” will be held for children. Throughout the day, the festival will feature a children’s playroom and children’s activities organized by partners of the Mamas Center. In parallel with the master classes, a lecture hall will open where you can listen to TED talks by speakers and leaders of the city’s creative industries. Topic: “A conscious approach to life through yoga.” – 13:00–13:45 – Tatyana Golivets, stylist. Topic: “Smart shopping”. – 13:45–14:15 – Anastasia Shakelina, designer. Topic: Slow Fashion vs Fast Fashion. – 14:15–14:45 – Denis Prikhodko, founder of the healthy food cafe Helsy. Topic: “PP – as a conscious approach to food.” – 14:45–15:15 – Diana Melnikova, sales and personal brand expert. Founder of SMM agency “ID”. Topic: “Eco-friendly sales.” – 15:15–15:45 – Svetlana Getman, cosmetologist. Topic: “Cosmetology – a conscious approach through health.” – 15:45–16:15 – Anna, founder of ThaiFruits. Topic: “What is inside me is also outside” (from the organizers’ explanations: “How and what we eat, how we sleep, move, work under stress, influences our conscious attitude towards the environment”). The festival site will also have an exchange area where you can exchange clothes, plants, books, children’s products and household goods. – 17:30 – presentation of the photo project “EcoPoint – time to change.” – 18:00 – fashion show, where young talents from the Primorsky Territory will present the first collection of clothing made from recycled materials, created as part of the “Upcycled.Simply” project. It should be noted that upcycling is the production of things based on previously made things that are no longer used for their intended purpose. After the screening, an award ceremony is planned for the winners, who will be publicly selected based on the results of online voting. Guests will be able to get acquainted with the designers, their collections and vote for their favorite look. – 20:25 – at the end of the evening there will be live performances by the indie rock band he-he-he and translator Maria Sosedko. The festival takes place within the framework of the project “These are not just things”, which is implemented through a grant from the President of the Russian Federation provided by the Presidential Grants Foundation.
