On International Tiger Day, the Samara TV Tower will be painted in tiger colors

From July 26 to August 1, the TV tower in Samara will be illuminated with tiger lights in honor of International Tiger Day. The logo and symbol of the Amur Tiger Center will appear on the TV tower. The TV tower will be illuminated from dusk until midnight. International Tiger Day is celebrated annually on July 29. The holiday was established in 2010 at the first Tiger Summit. Its goal is to raise public awareness of the problem of endangered tigers and ways to protect them. July 29 is also considered the birthday of the Amur Tiger Center. It was on this day in 2013, at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, that the Russian Geographical Society founded an organization for the study, conservation and restoration of the Amur tiger population. Thanks to the efforts of Russian specialists, over the past 10 years the population of the rare striped predator has increased by a third and now stands at about 750 individuals, including tiger cubs. The Amur Tiger Center’s campaign is being held for the fourth time. The Ostankino TV Tower and the TV towers in Birobidzhan, Blagoveshchensk, Bratsk, Bryansk, Veliky Novgorod, Voronezh, Grozny, Kaluga, Kostroma, Krasnoyarsk, Kyzyl, Maykop, Makhachkala, Nazran, Nalchik, Nizhny Novgorod, Pereshensk, Nizhny Novgorod, Pereshensk are participating. It includes Pyatigorsk, Rostov-on-Don, Saransk, Saratov, Simferopol, Sochi, Tambov, Tver, Tula, Ulan-Ude, Chelyabinsk, Cherkessk, Yaroslavl and other cities.
