Security forces descended on adherents of the Jehovah’s Witnesses banned in the Russian Federation*. In the apartment of one of them they found a receipt stating that he refused a blood transfusion.
According to SHOT, a wave of arrests took place after the initiation of a criminal case under the article “Organization of the activities of an extremist organization.” “Jehovah’s Witnesses”*, despite the ban, continued to recruit new adherents in the region and propagate their ideas, including refusal of blood transfusions even under the threat of death.
During the searches, prohibited literature and leaflets were seized. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the defendants is being decided.
