The corresponding changes to the governor’s decree are subject to public review. Let us recall that in February of this year, the governor’s decree introduced a ban in 2024 on the employment of foreign citizens working under patents, to work in taxis, on public transport, in the field of education and in recruiting agencies. . The need to introduce new restrictions in the draft resolution is motivated by the goals of “ensuring the safety of citizens and protecting the regional labor market.” If the new resolution is adopted, then in 2024 migrants will not be able to work in the production of bread, dairy products, food for children, drinking water and other food production (a total of 20 types of such activities are listed). They will also not be able to work in canteens and food delivery services, engage in wholesale and retail trade in alcoholic beverages and ethyl alcohol, tobacco products, retail sale of medicines, eggs and dairy products. In addition, the restrictions apply to data processing activities, the creation of databases, the placement of information, as well as the provision of short-term rental of houses, apartments and rooms. Employers will have to comply with the bans for three months from the date the regulation comes into force.
