The Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) prepared an analytical report for the third quarter on the footwear and light industry goods market, which was reviewed by Izvestia. The report showed that imports of these goods increased significantly compared to the same period last year. Imports of footwear during this period grew by almost 47%, accounting for 58% of the total. The main part of this was boots, with almost 61 million pairs imported, followed by boots with 23.1 million pairs. Domestic production increased by 14%. The same trend was noticed in the outerwear segment: imports increased by 38%, accounting for 55% of the market. In this category, jackets accounted for 63% of imported products, and coats – 4.4 million pieces. Own production increased by 47%. These drastic changes are associated with the market’s adaptation to new conditions, according to Anna Petrushina, head of the Legprom product group at CRPT. She also added that in 2022, many companies will have to reconsider their product range and change their supply chains due to new supply conditions.
