On August 1, the largest prisoner exchange between Russia, the United States, Germany and Belarus took place in Ankara. Russia released five German citizens, seven Russians, three Americans and one green card holder. Eight citizens returned to Russia as part of the exchange: Artem and Anna Dultsev (convicted in Slovenia for espionage), Vadim Krasikov (sentenced to life in Germany for murder), the son of deputy Roman Seleznev (convicted in the United States for cyber fraud) and others.
