According to the Ministry of Defense, the cause of the crash could have been a fire in one of the engines. There were 16 people on board. Eyewitnesses of the tragedy told what happened after the plane crash: “I had a child at school,” says Yuri. “The kid called and said, ‘Dad, we see a plane falling,’ he said, ‘we saw it from the window at school.’ There was no panic, they called relatives, called a neighbor. I say: “The child is calling, a plane is crashing.” He: “Yes, I hear a roar.” Many local residents did not see the moment of the fall, and the sound of the explosion, according to them, was not loud. The consequences of what happened are still felt today. “Today I came home from work and just walked down the street – not a single person,” sighs a resident of the village of Bogorodskoye. “It’s as if everyone was frozen, everyone was left behind.” with this tragedy in my soul. “It’s very painful,” says a local resident.
