“Dobro.Center” grew out of a small volunteer organization “OPORA” of the youth cultural center “Rodina”. In 2014, the organization included only a few activists; four years later, the Center for Voluntary Initiatives appeared on its basis. The ranks of volunteers were replenished with students. During the pandemic, a city volunteer headquarters was formed to provide targeted assistance to the elderly and disabled. In 2021, the regional Volunteer Resource Center, the administration of Koryazhma and the Rodina MCC signed a tripartite cooperation agreement. As a result, a branch of the Resource Center was opened in Koryazhma, which began functioning as the “Dobro.Center” at the end of October. “We are glad that Koryazhma has joined the federal network of Dobro.Centers. Now we will be able to attract even more citizens to volunteer, support public projects and social initiatives of non-profit organizations,” Irina Shirokova, head of the Dobro.Center in Koryazhma, told ASI. There are four such centers in the Arkhangelsk region – in Koryazhma, Kotlas, Kargopol and Velsk.
