On September 11, the highest air temperature in the history of observations was recorded in Simferopol – 35.1 degrees. This is 3.4 degrees higher than the previous record set in 2017, the Crimean Hydrometeorological Center reported. The heat was caused by a warm front that came from the Mediterranean Sea, but on Thursday it rained on the peninsula, which is why the temperature dropped by several degrees. In July and August, several temperature records were set in Crimea for the entire history of observations. Summer on the peninsula turned out to be hot, the amount of precipitation is significantly below normal. We add that in Moscow, September 1, 2024 was the hottest in all 145 years of meteorological observations, the thermometer rose to +31 degrees.
