Ekimovsky studied at the Gnessin Institute at the Faculty of History, Theory and Composition in the class of Aram Khachaturyan. The concert of its first author took place on December 3, 1970 in the Chamber Hall of the Gnessin Institute. It was then that he began to seriously study musicology. Ekimovsky taught at GITIS for three years, while working part-time on the radio, making the “Musical Globe” radio program. Ekimovsky created the musical part of the cartoon “Potets” (1992) based on the work of Oberiut Alexander Vvedensky.
