In Krasnoyarsk Krai, a court heard the verdict of a previously unconvicted 38-year-old resident of Zheleznogorsk, whom city police investigators accused of cruelty to animals. It was established that at the end of last year, the accused threw a dog from the balcony of an apartment located on the second floor. Fortunately, the dog survived, but was seriously injured. The injured animal was found and taken for treatment by representatives of a local specialized shelter. At the same time, animal rights activists reported the incident to the police department. When the police identified the attacker, he confessed to committing the crime and said that he did it because the dog damaged the property – chewed up wallpaper, furniture and shoes. After another damage to the shoes and an argument with his partner, the drunk man went out onto the balcony, grabbed the dog and threw it out into the street. Thanks to the caring nature of the volunteers, the condition of the injured animal was stabilized, but some functions of his body were impossible to restore. Despite this, the dog found a new loving family. The court, having examined the materials of the criminal case initiated under Part 1 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, sentenced the resident of Zheleznogorsk to 250 hours of forced labor.
