An exact replica of the cross of Godens with illumination was delivered to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. This information is reported by TASS, citing the president of the Synodal Missionary Department of the Moscow Patriarchate, Bishop Evfimy Lukhovitsky. He emphasized that the transfer of the cross took place as part of a multi-day all-Russian religious procession dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the appearance of the Godenva cross in the Sahota swamp. The event began in Murmansk on September 3 and ended at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The religious procession took place in about 30 cities of Russia and Belarus, and at least 300 thousand people took part in it. The Bishop explained that the purpose of the religious procession is spiritual enlightenment, unification and cohesion of the Russian people. According to Evfimy, the Cross of God will be in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior until November 20, after which it will be installed in the Church of St. Nicholas of the World in Novaya Sloboda on Dolgorukovskaya Street. The Cross of Goden is a carved, painted human-sized image of Jesus Christ, made in the Byzantine style. The cross was restored and is now in the Church of St. John Chrysostom in Godenova.
