The thermal power plant is located at the intersection of power lines connecting Ukraine with Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Its installed capacity was 2334 MW. Coal from the coal basins of Ukraine was used as the main fuel, and natural gas and fuel oil were used as auxiliary fuel. The thermal power plant has been operating since May 1965.
