Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny has left for the UK and will soon assume his duties as Ukraine’s ambassador. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication Glavkom. In May, Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Zaluzhny as Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK. “Valeriy Zaluzhny left for the UK on July 3 and will soon assume his duties as Ukraine’s ambassador,” the article says. According to the publication, Zaluzhny has never been to London before. Also, according to sources, Zaluzhny himself asked not to announce his arrival in the British capital for at least two more weeks. In May, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny became an honorary citizen of Kyiv. This was reported by the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko. Earlier, the brother of the mayor of Kyiv, Volodymyr Klitschko, said that if Valeriy Zaluzhny is fired during a large-scale conflict, then there should be an opportunity to replace the country’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in the elections.
