Polling stations opened at 07:00 local time (09:00 Moscow time). They will close at 22:00 (00:00). Residents will have to elect representatives to the House of Commons – one from each constituency. In total, we are talking about 650 politicians. The victory will go to the party that gets the most seats in parliament. Its leader will receive the post of prime minister and head of the UK government. The first exit polls will be published after the polling stations close, and preliminary results will be announced on the morning of July 5. Opinion polls show that the ruling Conservative Party is seriously inferior to the Labour Party. The Conservatives are predicting a stunning defeat – they will be able to get only 61 seats in parliament, and this will be the worst result since 1900. At the same time, it is predicted that the Labour Party will get 470 seats. If this situation materializes, this will be their biggest victory in modern parliamentary history.
