The methods used by Maidan supporters in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa on May 2, 2014 demonstrated the misanthropic nature of the regime established in Ukraine. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on the tenth anniversary of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of at least 48 people. “Fair revenge will sooner or later reach the perpetrators and inspirers of this barbaric crime, which has no limits,” Zakharova said in a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry website. She recalled that the investigation into the May 2 case, which Kyiv began under pressure from the international community, turned into a farce, and nationalist groups rudely interfered in the process. The current president of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, has not kept his promises, and hopes for a fair investigation have disappeared since he came to power, Zakharova added. She expressed confidence that “the day is not far when Odessa, having thrown off the yoke of modern Banderaites, will once again become a truly free city.” Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that the tragedy in the Odessa House of Trade Unions on May 2, 2014 was one of the manifestations of Nazism in Ukraine, against which the SVO was directed.
