The head of the Slovak government, Robert Fico, will work at night at an auto parts factory in solidarity with those workers who work at night. He shared the relevant information at an event in the west of the country. In his opinion, it is necessary to find a common solution to the issue of payment for night shifts in the state. “Either people working night shifts should earn more, or night shifts should not be attractive to employers,” the Slovak Prime Minister also noted. At the same time, with conveyor production there is no need for night shifts at all. He also called for using the Workers’ National Day (in Slovakia it is also a day off – ed.) to declare “how important work is in Slovakia.” This night shift in production will not be the first for Mr. Fico: in 2017, while also Prime Minister, he worked the night shift at an auto parts factory, at the same time the purpose of the action was announced to promote additional pay for working at night
