In exchange for passing on information, Dalke asked for $85,000. The man then met with the “Russian agent” in downtown Denver and gave him five files, four of which contained top secret information about NDI. One of the files was a letter in which a Pentagon employee stated that he “looks forward to friendship and mutual benefit” and promised to receive the remaining documents after returning to the office. The FBI arrested Dahlke on Sept. 28, 2023, immediately after handing over the classified files, the Justice Department said.
