The European Championship and the Draughts-64 Championship were held in Kemer, Turkey. From April 19 to 28, competitions were held in six age groups in the disciplines of lightning, fast and classical games. Photo: Chess Federation of the Samara Region 116 athletes from 9 countries took part in the tournaments. Representatives of the Samara region successfully performed as part of the Russian national team. Mikhail Chernozemov won the lightning program among boys under 9 years old. Sultan Kanjukaev won a silver medal. In the fast program, Mikhail Chernozemov won gold, and Sultan Kandzhukaev won silver. In the classical program, the winner of the championship was Mikhail Chernozemov. Sultan Kanyukaev took third place. On the same days, the first stage of the World Cup in draughts-64 took place in Kemer. 56 athletes from 6 countries took part in the competition.
